“Watercolor in Nature”
by Rosalie Haizlett

November 29, 2021  /  reviewed by Megan Biffert

BRIEF OVERVIEW

In “Watercolor in Nature” Rosalie Haizlett shares with you all of her enthusiasm and skill for creating beautiful ink and watercolor paintings of insects, plants, mushrooms, and wildlife. She is an accomplished and skilled artist who, in her own words, “use[s] illustration to honor and celebrate the places and creatures that often go unnoticed.”

Her new book is a definite celebration of the wonder to be found in nature! In “Watercolor in Nature” Rosalie has created 20 individual projects for you. Each one teaches a watercolor technique that will help you create your own sketches and paintings of the natural world. The projects are detailed and clear in their instructions and pictures, and very enjoyable. By the end you will not only have learned a great deal, but will also be eager to head out into the woods near you with a sketchbook in hand and new confidence to paint what you discover!
